Despite the double disappointment of yesterday’s derby result there was plenty to enjoy and celebrate around Celtic Park.
The team having a collective off day coupled with a below par performance from Bobby Madden meant that for just the second time domestically this season Celtic were held to a draw.
Before the kick off expectancy was in the air with You’ll Never Walk Alone ringing out after Madden had blown his first whistle.
After a stunning start from Madden Celtic managed to find some composure without getting close to their free flowing best.
Sevco were able to break the game up at will with the threat of a yellow card knowing that a red was highly unlikely.
Stuart Armstrong’s 35th minute goal looked like being a marker but the second never followed as the clock ticked away.
Craig Gordon had pulled off a few great one on one stops but was finally beaten in the 87th minute before the talking point that no Celtic fan will forget.
The after match misery has made way for the consolation that Celtic at their worst against Sevco at their best were only denied victory by erratic refereeing.
ROD AND HIS BHOY
ATaking your kid/s to their first match is always a bit special.
From his comfy seat in the Directors Box Rod points over to where the action is, from the Green Brigade in Section 111 with their songs chants and displays.
Unfortunately there wasn’t the opportunity to join in a huddle but I’m sure that there will be plenty of more big games to enjoy and victories to celebrate.
A little taste of disappointment will make future successes much sweeter.
BRENDAN AND LEIGH
An angry Leigh Griffiths is ushered away by his gaffer who’ll be having words with the referee.
When Madden asked the Celtic striker if Hill had touched the ball you can only imagine Griffiths reaction, likewise when Hill told Rodgers that he’d got away with one.
Rodgers can be in little doubt now about the standard of refereeing in Scotland, it’s unlikely to get any better between now and the end of the season.
OUR FAITH
AOnce again the Green Brigade come up with something special for the big occasion.
Displays have been thin on the ground in recent months as funds are diverted into legal costs.
They almost always manage to catch things just right, blending the old with the new, celebrating our history in a modern manner.

It was a while coming but was simplicity itself as Stuart Armstrong drilled in a 20 yarder than Wes Foderingham didn’t get close to.
That goal should have settled the team down but other than Armstrong there weren’t many shots at goal, when he left the pitch the shape changed and tempo dropped.
With his overdue Scotland call up we have the complete midfielder in our ranks, capable of playing a number of roles and importantly finding the net.
THE STATEMENT
SNothing needs to be added, the truth hurts with the newspapers stirring up predictable controversy with soundbites from the usual suspects. ‘No we urnae’ being a typical reply.
Everyone that has been to watch T2 will understand the meaning is more than just a PIN code.
