Sevco’s plans for a new management dream team are on the brink of collapse.

Four weeks after the company claimed that Mark Warburton offered his resignation there is no sign of a replacement with Graeme Murty still holding fort.

Responding to the actions of his long distance chairman Stewart Robertson decided to buy time with his Director of Football and first team coach cunning plan.

Despite extensive lobbying Ross Wilson and Pedro Caixinha are starting the week miles from Ibrox.

Wilson has been portrayed as the genius behind Southampton’s rise from League One to the Europa League and EFL Final despite having a relatively minor role at St Mary’s.

A week after Southampton’s EFL Final appearance he has still to say yes to the Ibrox offer, his potential departure hasn’t set off alarm bells at the club or the offer of a pay rise.

Last week Robertson was in London interviewing several outstanding candidates for both jobs, it seems that none of them have found the prospect of working for Robbo outstanding.

Out of absolutely nowhere the fifth best coach in Qatar has been portrayed as a cross between Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola. Who knows how good the coach of the fourth best team in Qatar is.

Currently the Ibrox club are creating a number of obstacles to prevent the ‘highly rated Caixinha from taking up the offer of a lifetime and a pay cut from £2m/year tax free to £350,000 less tax and national insurance to work with Andy Halliday and Rob Kiernan.

His greedy club Al Gharafa are looking for £500,000 to buy out his contract and ‘interest’ from Mexican giants Club America are apparently holding up the deal.

Without the money to pay off Warbo almost everyone in the game knows about the dire financial situation at Ibrox.

A bizarre management structure that requires approval from a South African vineyard doesn’t make life easier.

Those circumstances combined with the expectation to beat Brendan Rodgers and stop 10-in-a-row means that the new dream team is looking more and more likely to involve the EBT duet of Alex McLeish and Alex Rae, both are RRM.
