Kris Boyd has launched an astonishing attack on the Sevco team ahead of their derby day clash with Celtic.

If Graeme Murty thought that Frank McAvennie was out of order he should email a copy of Boyd’s article to his players as their coach drives along London Road this morning.

The world’s greatest ever goalscorer, except when he was at Ibrox under Ally McCoist in the 2014/15 season, has accused the current Sevco squad, including former team-mates Kenny Miller and Lee Wallace, of not having the guts to stand up to Celtic.

Boyd also accuses the Ibrox players of being more interested in their hair gel and tight fitting shirts than winning a 50-50.

The chunky Kilmarnock striker claims that it’ll be easier for Murty’s men to look themselves in the mirror before the game than after it.

It’s quite a turn around from Boyd who claimed that the gap between the two clubs wasn’t as big as Chris Sutton and others claimed.

On BT Sport the former Seattle Timbers hitman repeated that claim backed up by Barrie McKay hitting a shot round the post at 2-1!

In his preview in The Sun, Boyd claims that the Ibrox side are a team of pretty boys playing nicey-nice football and that Celtic are Simply The Best!

PRETTY BOYS

Describing the scene in the dressing room Boys tells The Sun: “YOU can guarantee they’ll have just the right amount of gel in their hair.

“That their extra-tight-fitting jerseys will be tucked neatly into their shorts.
And their socks will be turned up perfectly.

“When Rangers run in front of the TV cameras against Celtic this lunchtime, they will definitely look the part but it’s one thing having players checking themselves in the dressing-room mirror before the game kicks off.

“I fear there won’t be many able to look into it afterwards. There is only one way my old club can win today’s Old Firm clash and that’s by doing it the UGLY way but, for me, that’s something they’re simply not capable of.

TOO MUCH TIPP TAPPY, NICEY NICE

Boyd adds: “Too many in there are only interested in playing nicey-nicey football, when what they really need to do is get their sleeves rolled up and their hands dirty.

“Celtic have the right mentality. They pass and move when they can but they’re also not shy to put their foot in if it’s needed.

“To me, that’s what Rangers v Celtic games are all about. You need to have a horrible, nasty streak for this game.

“You need to be able to stand in the tunnel and say to yourself you are prepared to do anything to get the victory.

“I think of team-mates like Barry Ferguson, Davie Weir, Kirk Broadfoot and Lee McCulloch, who would have booted their grannies in the head just to come off the park in an Old Firm game as winners.

“There aren’t enough players in this Rangers side who know how to get stuck in about it in a game like this. There aren’t enough leaders who have that necessary nastiness in their game.

“They need to remember that anybody can win a fight through sheer determination.

“For me, there are some players who think playing for Rangers is about looking good against the smaller sides in the league.

CELTIC ARE SIMPLY THE BEST

Reading like a column written by Chris Sutton, Boyd adds: “Celtic are far and away a better team than Rangers. People often talk about the cliché that the form book goes out the window before derby matches, but that’s only the case when two teams are evenly matched.

“Form has nothing to do with it when Celtic are so much better than Rangers.
There is a huge gulf between the two teams at the moment, maybe as big as it’s ever been.

“I can’t remember a time when Celtic were so dominant.”
