The Rodgers Legacy

Brendan Rodgers has outlined his Celtic legacy.

The Irishman has transformed the club in every area with his side unbeaten domestically.

A maximum of seven points are needed to deliver the title with the club one match away from the final of the Scottish Cup.

The top tier of the Lisbon Lions stand has been reopened with season ticket holders going out of their way to get to matches rather than finding other things to do.

With a young squad getting stronger game by game Rodgers has set the wheels in motion to create something special and is determined to leave his mark for generations to come.

“Whether that’s for one year or another four or five years, I want to raise the standard,” he explained to The Sun about his legacy. “Hopefully that will push the club to the maximum.

“I’m on a one-year contract, so you can’t predict a manager’s stay. You can’t say how long you are going to be at a club.

“On a Saturday you can walk on water and on a Monday you’re the DEVIL.

“A manager would love to say that you can stay and build something — but modern society doesn’t really allow you to do that. Look at Claudio Ranieri.

“You always have to keep moving and never become complacent. You just have to focus on yourself — keep raising the standards.

“You want to set out a vision that hopefully allows the club to go forward.

“My obligation is for a legacy here. So what is the one I want to leave? That compared to the first day when I walked in, the club is in a better place.”

Rodgers has transformed Celtic on a minimal spend with star duo Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair costing £4m.

With Champions League qualifiers to come in the summer Rodgers is planning on some early transfer business to create a squad capable of staying in Europe beyond Christmas.
