Brendan Rodgers has highlighted the frightening ability of Scott Sinclair.

In any other season Sinclair would be the most talked about player in the country but with 32 goals the headlines have all been about Moussa Dembele.

Against St Mirren Sinclair was again on the scoresheet with that curling dipping right footed shot into the postage stamp corner rapidly becoming his signature goal.

Despite failing to make an impact at Manchester City or Aston Villa Rodgers’ faith in the goalscoring winger never wavered.

As soon as he was appointed Celtic manager signing Sinclair became a priority- with all of his hopes delivered as the hoops shape up for a remarkable season.

Scotty is a remarkable player,” The Sun report Rodgers saying. “You should enjoy watching him, he’s a breath of fresh air for Scottish football.

He is a winger with speed, who wants to score and create goals. His pace is frightening.

When I took him to Swansea, I had the same feeling as I did last summer. I needed a winger to take the team up the pitch and he was fantastic for me.

Scotty has that top level speed and ability to go and break lines.

If you are dominant and teams sit in, you need to go through them. Scott can do that with and without the ball.

He will get 20 goals. There is no doubt about that. For a winger to get that number, added to the assists he’s had, he’s a real catalyst for the team.”

Sinclair’s Celtic career got off to the perfect start when he came off the bench to score the winning goal in the opening SPFL fixture away to Hearts at Tynecastle.

In 26 domestic matches this season Sinclair has scored 18 times.
