It looked and sounded like a bereavement as Ally McCoist, Richard Keys and Andy Gray discussed Celtic’s title success on BEIN Sport today.
While Keys fails miserably to be impartial the pain and anguish is pouring out of McCoist and Gray as they attempt to praise Brendan Rodgers as he takes Celtic closer to the figure they dread- TEN.
There was however one escape route as they talked optimistically about Rodgers leaving Celtic for anyone, just anyone which could leave the door open for their favourite tribute act to step in, provided Aberdeen don’t beat them to it.
It seems that Rodgers leaving and Celtic falling apart is the only hope for the McCoist’s and Gray’s of this world. Rather than hoping that the fifth best coach in Qatar may be able to build something worthwhile from the best squad in Scotland it is all centred on Celtic.
Fortunately for Celtic the Irishman will be around for a few more title parties while their tribute act provides comedy for all
