As if yesterday’s display by Don Robertson wasn’t bad enough the blundering whistler has already been booked in for a role in the Scottish Cup semi-final between Celtic and Sevco at Hampden.
The SFA announced the Hampden officials last week and bizarrely decided to also give Robertson the match at Ross County.
Even if the final whistle had been blown after 85 minutes before Schalk’s dive and Brown’s ordering off giving Robertson back-to-back matches involving the same club was a mistake.

As we saw two years ago with Alan Muir at the Inverness Caley Thistle v Celtic semi-final the additional assistant referee can be called upon to give important decisions, or in Muir’s case miss a handball ten yards in front of him.
Adding another twist to the tale Frank Connor will be a real assistant on Sunday, Connor was the assistant referee in the same half of the park as Muir and Steven McLean when Josh Meekings handled Leigh Griffiths header in the 2015 semi-final.
After the dust settles at Hampden the SFA will announce the match officials for the Ibrox SPFL clash between the clubs, rarely will officials come under greater scrutiny.
