Brendan’s targets

After the wobble against Partick Thistle the hoops looked more like themselves in the 3-1 win over Kilmarnock.

Clinching a title early on is always good news but does produce a problem in the remaining fixtures but there are enough targets plus the demands of Brendan Rodgers to keep the players going at full strength.

The return of Tom Rogic is certainly good news with the Australian filling the attacking midfield role perfectly. With his availability Stuart Armstrong can be pushed back to partner Scott Brown with Callum McGregor waiting for an opening.

Sunday’s trip to Ross County will be a strange fixture with everything geared towards the following weekends, two games against Sevco within six days will define the season- two wins will set the team up for the best ever domestic campaign.

Rodgers certainly knows the history, if any players don’t then they’ll soon get the message about what is at stake- in other countries winning two trophies would be enough- with Celtic it just leads to what is next.

Over the next six weeks it’s all there for the taking. By definition history making doesn’t come along too often, there’s no shortage of incentives for the bhoys to deliver.
