Pedro’s quit threat

Brother Pedro will walk away from Ibrox if he can’t get the better of Celtic.

Despite inheriting the best squad in Scotland the Ibrox boss watched his side tumble out of the Scottish Cup with barely a whimper to Celtic at Hampden. There will be no additions to last season’s Petrofac Cup success in the Blue Room.

A 33 point gap to Celtic suggests that Caixinha has his work cut out to deliver next season’s SPFL title but the more he listens to his own voice the more Caixinha is convinced that he can get the better of Brendan Rodgers.

Looking forward to Saturday’s visit of the champions he told the Daily Record: “If there’s wasn’t (belief in the squad) I would not be here facing you.

“If I don’t believe that I can do these things I’m not going to show up. I would just resign and go home.”

He added: “It (a gap) exists, I can’t deny it but we are working to reduce it and we are going to do it. This is not a question of time. This is a question of work, belief and commitment.”

Before they get round to getting the better of Celtic Sevco will have to overcome Aberdeen who are nine points and 21 goals better off than the Ibrox side.

With a going concern warning on their last audited accounts and Dave King facing action from the Court of Session after ignoring the outcome of his Takeover Appeal Board money will be tight at Ibrox over the summer.

Having attempted to change the holiday plans of his players and admitted to being ashamed by his side’s display at Hampden the pressure is piling up on the fifth best coach in Qatar.

After snubbing the options of three Real Rangers Men to become his number three there are no shortage of in-house snipers waiting for Brother Pedro to fail.
