Chris Sutton knows that Brendan Rodgers won’t be satisfied by 10-in-a-row.

Like every Celtic fan he realises the significance of the landmark, the tribulations that the club and the hard graft needed to finish the season as champions of Scotland.

Rodgers is incredibly ambitions, he may have discovered his dream job but the day that complacency sets in will be the day he quits.

Making Celtic a team to be feared again in Europe is the aim during the timespan of his new contract.

It won’t be enough to hear visiting players compliment the atmosphere- Rodgers wants Celtic to be rated and feared when the draw comes around for the group phase.

Sutton has watched an incredible transformation in his old club over the last 12 months- with Rodgers committed he expects to see much much more over the net couple of seasons.

Make no mistake, he would not have signed this new deal without assurances that he will be given the funds he needs to strengthen the squad to equip him to achieve their next goals,” the former striker explained in the Daily Record.

Progress in Europe in terms of continued presence in the Champions League will be top of those goals.

And it will be fascinating to see his transfer-market activity in the summer now that it’s clear he has the trust and the backing of the board.

He has transformed the club and to want to carry on that stability is a refreshing thing for Celtic and their supporters.”

As someone said recently, this is only the beginning.
