Kris Boyd has launched the first high profile attack on Brother Pedro.

After four weeks of the fifth best coach in Qatar being treated as the eighth wonder of the world the Kilmarnock substitute has put the boot into the new regime at Ibrox.

Boyd spent Wednesday night watching Caixinha at close quarters and is alarmed at what he witnessed at Ibrox.

Off the park Kenny Miller and Clint Hill have been refused new contracts while Lee Wallace opted to get surgery done on a long standing injury rather than wear the armband of unsurpassed dignity for the mystery man from Portugal.

Rumours of unrest have been rife about the new six day week with Boyd shining a light on the playing problems inside Ibrox as they prepare to face Aberdeen.

I watched as their players argued with each other at Rugby Park,” he claimed in The Sun. “They didn’t look a close-knit group at all.

There have been rumblings in the game for weeks that the lads aren’t entirely happy with the new regime.

Caixinha has brought in a six-day week and told the players they’ll only get 10 days off in the summer.

That’s his call, but if he’s not careful that sort of thing can easily and quickly backfire on a manager.

There’s a saying I like, ‘Too much water killed the plant’, and I think Caixinha should think about that.

It’s one thing to work hard but players sometimes need to get away from each other and switch off.

Caixinha clearly has his own way, like how he revealed his team before he came to Kilmarnock.

Like I say, I found that a weird one.

It’s not the way we work here in Scotland, maybe that’s something he has to realise for himself.

He didn’t do it for today’s match, did he? And I very much doubt he’ll make that mistake again.”

Boyd made no mention of last week’s prediction that Brendan Rodgers was on his way to Arsenal closely followed by Stuart Armstrong, Moussa Dembele and Kieran Tierney.

Yesterday the budding media darling spent his afternoon on the bench watching Celtic beat Kilmarnock for the third and last time of the season.
