Martin Bain picked up an incredible £360,000 bonus from the sale of Rangers to Craig Whyte in 2011.

Bain was the chief executive of the club as they attempted to keep on winning titles to reach the group phase of the Champions League to enable the club to break even.

Detail of the incredible bonus was revealed today at the Craig Whyte fraud trial, giving evidence earlier in the trial David Murray explained that he was unaware of the 39 month notice period that Bain had in his contract.

Despite the generous bonus Bain appeared to have little to do with the negotiations to sell the club which was conducted by the Murray group to the exclusion of the other Ibrox directors.

Shortly after Whyte paid Murray his pound Bain was suspended from his job along with Finance Director Donald McIntyre. Bain was subsequently dismissed and dropped a claim for £900,000 of damages.
