Sevco legend Clint Hill won’t be offered a new contract.

The 38-year-old defender scored the most famous goal in the club’s history when he netted a late equaliser against Celtic in March.

That goal sparked incredible scenes of celebration despite the draw meaning that the #goingfor55 was officially ended with Celtic out of reach with a dozen games still to play.

Hill’s hero status was recognised last month when he was awarded the prestigious John Greig Achievement Award at the club’s Player of the Year awards.

The central defender is generally regarded as the most successful of last summer’s signing spree, establishing himself in the centre of defence after a couple of disastrous appearances from Pip Senderos.

Hill and Senderos are the only first team players out of contract next month with pay-off’s needed if Brother Pedro is to whittle the squad down to make way for his own signings.

In his one season at Ibrox Hill started 22 matches and scored three goals.

Meanwhile Sevco have confirmed that 15-year-old Billy Gilmore will sign for Chelsea next month as soon as he turns 16.
