The fraud trial of Craig Whyte took an unexpected turn today when the prosecution sharply decided to end their case with no further witnesses being called. They also decided to amend the indictment based on the evidence heard so far.

It has been less than a polished performance by the Advocate Depute who has listened as many of his witnesses have suffered memory loss when questioned about key aspects in the case.
Even Dave Murray became forgetful as he was questioned by his former Ibrox colleague over the £1 deal that he brokered with Craig Whyte after starting off with a price tag of £30m.
Walter Smith and Ally McCoist were both called by the prosecution but added little to the case against Whyte.
Some fireworks are now expected as Findlay gets to call in the witnesses for the defence.
With each passing witness it seems obvious that Ticketus was an every day topic of discussion and an essential resource to keep Rangers afloat after Lloyds Bank refused to indulge in the ridiculous loans and overdraft culture that kept Celtic at bay but which ultimately killed the club off.
