Patrick Roberts insists that Celtic are thriving on the pressure of going through the season unbeaten.
Over the last couple of months the post split visit to Aberdeen was looked on as the match most likely to end that run.
Derek McInnes’ side were blown away in the first 11 minutes and although they made a game of it the destiny of the points was never in doubt.
Roberts has started Celtic’s last four matches as the treble comes into sight and is responding to the attention and pressure that the hoops are dealing with.
Three more wins will see Brendan Rodgers side write their names large into the club’s history with the on loan Manchester City looking forward to the final challenges of the season.
“Making history doesn’t faze us, we just want to get better every game,” he told The Sun.
“Some sides might get that way but for us we’ve been the same since we started the season against Hearts.
“Of course we realise what we could go on and achieve — and I don’t think it fazes us.
“We just go on to the pitch and we just want to play the best we possibly can and improve. I think that proves that we’re a top side and just want to get better.
“The manager says that teams are waiting for us to slip up rather than try and beat us, so if we don’t do that, we know our game and we know we’ll come out with the best result.
“For us it’s just about staying mentally focused and being prepared. If you worry about it too much you can let it get to you and your emotions but we’ve been resilient this year and been mentally strong.
“We’ve treated every game the same so far and we’ll do the same with the next two and the Cup final. It’s a good two weeks to come and we’re looking forward to it.”
Roberts performance again underlined his importance to the Celtic side and why he has to be Rodgers’ number one signing target.
His future is largely in the hands of Pep Guardiola who has to decide if the 20-year-old is ready for the Manchester City first team squad or what the next step should be in Roberts career.
