John Hartson believes that Celtic already have one hand on nine-in-a-row.

The Welshman won titles with Martin O’Neill and Gordon Strachan during five eventful years that yielded over 100 goals.

Strachan’s side went on to win three titles on the trot but when Dave Murray upped the EBT budget that run came to a halt.

Next Sunday Celtic will be crowned champions for the sixth season running with Hartson backing the bhoys to stay on top for a few more years.

Discussing a challenge from Ibrox he told BT Sport viewers: “An awful lot of work to be done.

I’d like to know exactly how much Caixinha has to spend. I’d like to see Dave King come out and say ‘this is his transfer kitty’. There’s an awful lot to do there.

You could probably hand Celtic the Scottish Premiership for the next three years before anybody is to get close to them.”

Hartson added: “But Rangers are only looking to sign players to finish second or third.

It will be interesting to see where Caixinha goes into. Is it the English Premiership, is it League One. Is it the Scottish Premiership? That will be interesting”

From the noises so far Caixinha will be dealing in the free transfer market.

After Mark Warburton’s raid on Accrington last season it looks like Motherwell are being looked on enviously this summer.

Recruiting players won’t be easy but it’ll be a stroll in the park compared to trying to move on the stars that Warbo put on long term contracts with Andy Halliday, Josh Crooks, Micky O’Halloran and Jason Holt all contracted till 2020.
