There was no disguising Brendan Rodgers feelings and emotions as he led Celtic to the treble.

Without doubt the hoops have a manager that knows the history- he was born into it.

Fifty three weeks after being appointed as manager Rodgers remains unbeaten domestically with three trophies to show for his efforts.

The success of the manager runs far far deeper than results- there is a pride and passion back among the Celtic support.

A year ago folk struggled to give their season ticket away as fans found fresh excuses not to go to matches- today there is a waiting list to hand over £500 for a season ticket.

Rodgers filled the stadium and restored hope to the support while delivering on his announcements.

Reflecting on how his side made history he told BBC Scotland: “I said to the players – you want them to write about this afterwards but you have to make it happen. And they have done that.

“I was born into Celtic. It’s a huge privilege to manage this club. I was born into it and we have created something which hopefully allows us to build on this. To do what we did this season is spectacular.”

Rodgers recently signed a four year contract replacing the 12 month rolling deal he signed when he joined Celtic.
