Liam Gallagher saluted Leigh Griffiths at his Barrowlands concert last night.
The former Oasis frontman is a well known Manchester City fan with Griffiths’ double strike for Scotland against England piling the pressure on England keeper Joe Hart.
Addressing the audience last night The Sun reported Gallagher saying: “You played well and that geezer who scored the two goals, is nearly as cool as me.”
It looked like another international day of frustration for Griffiths as Scotland struggled to create any sort of chance around goal with England leading 1-0 through Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Four minutes from the final whistle the Celtic striker sent the Scotland support wild with excitement as he equalised with a stunning free kick from 25 yards out- his first international goal.
Two minutes later Griffiths repeated the trick with a similar free kick into the other side of the net.
Unfortunately Harry Kane popped up with a stoppage time equaliser as the English media turned their anger on Hart.
