Kris Boyd has dared to question the Dream Team being put together by Pedro Caixinha.

Eight new players have now being brought in with all of them from Portugal, Mexico and Columbia with the exception of Ryan Jack.

Getting the new recruits to gel with the leftovers from the Mark Warburton regime will be a massive task as the club’s wage bill balloons.

Twelve months ago there was hardly a dissenting voice over the #goingfor55 campaign led by Mark Warburton but Boyd isn’t quite convinced by the arrival of Caixinha.

He’s [Caixinha] definitely been backed, that’s for sure,” the Kilmarnock striker told Sky Sports.

“It will be interesting to see with the Europa League campaign starting soon too, I know they’ve been playing closed-door games, it’s that bedding in period.

“A few South American and Portuguese players coming in, it can sometimes take a bit of time to settle in. The Rangers fans will need them to start straight away though, because they won’t want the same season as last year.”

The same as last year looks an absolute certainty as hype overtakes reality for the Ibrox fans.

This week’s announcement of a new retail deal has been accepted chapter and verse despite King’s track record of failing to deliver on pledges.

Last month he promised fans that every penny from season ticket sales would be spent on players, on Wednesday he claimed that further soft loans had been needed to fund the Caixinha revolution.
