Former Celtic striker Jorge Cadete has taken a walk down Memory Lane to discover that he is the most successful first season striker in Celtic’s history.
Twenty one years ago the Portuguese striker was in his pomp notching 33 goals in his one and only full season at the club.

The 96/97 season turned against Celtic in the new year clash at Ibrox when linesman Gordon McBride decided to disallow a perfectly good strike from Cadete.
Afterwards the cover up ranged from offside to handball as the authorities closed down in the same manner that Jim Farry had delayed Cadete’s registration in April 1996.
The summer of 96 was an incredible period of optimism around Celtic Park after the fervour that Tommy Burns had built up during the first season back at Celtic Park.
Paolo di Canio had joined two other Amigos in Cadete and Pierre van Hooijdonk.
Unfortunately a series of little problems undone the good work put in the previous season with honest mistakes finishing the season off.
A year later as Wim Jansen stopped the ten it was hard to believe that the Three Amigos had been and gone, replaced by new heroes in Henrik Larsson, Craig Burnley and Paul Lambert.
