Celtic are stepping up their interest in Srdjan Plavsic.

According to a report in the Daily Mail the Red Star Belgrade winger will be watched by new hoops scout Lee Congerton in action for Serbia against Spain on Friday at the UEFA u-21 European Championships in Poland.

Plavsic is known as the Atomic Ant due to being just 5 foot 5 tall but has made a big impact at Red Star attracting interest from Basel and Sparta Prague.

Although Celtic have signed Jonny Hayes it seems that they are also after Plavsic with hopes receding for the return of Patrick Roberts.

Plavsic has played over 30 matches in each of the last two seasons for Red Star and has played in both of Serbia’s European Championship matches against Portugal and Macedonia.

Celtic have also been linked with a loan move for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham but with Newcastle, Brighton and Swansea also interested a move to compete with Moussa Dembele at Celtic would seem unlikely.
