Jonny Hayes laughed off concerns about making his Celtic debut away to Linfield on July 12.

The former Aberdeen man met the media today after completing his £1.3m switch over the weekend.

Hayes was introduced shortly after the second round draw for the Champions League threw up Linfield or La Florita as Celtic’s opponents.

Linfield have held strong ties with both Rangers clubs down the years with former Ibrox strike ace David Healy currently in charge.

Celtic travelling to Windsor Park on July 11 or 12 will clearly be a major security risk with Celtic likely to decline taking tickets for the match.

The hoops have a massive support in Belfast but they are more likely to be watching the match on television than ‘going behind enemy lines’ even though there is a real prospect of a high scoring away win.

La Florita travel to Belfast next week for the first leg of their first round tie.

Last September Linfield lost 7-0 to Mark Warburton’s Sevco in a very friendly friendly.
