While they seem capable of agreeing transfer deals almost on a daily basis with clubs in Portugal and Mexico Sevco are finding Norwich City much tougher negotiators.

Last night The Sun reported that a second bid for Graham Dorrans had been turned down with every positive piece of transfer news being dutifully relayed to the gullible support.

After two weeks of talks and on the back of an archive picture being released of Dorrans in full Rangers (IL) kit from his primary school days Norwich rejected a second bid reported to be worth more than £1m.

With two years left on his contract Norwich are in no rush to sell the midfielder but prepared to cut a reasonable deal that will trim their wage bill after they failed to win promotion back to the Premier League.

Sevco have apparently agreed a fee of £2.7m with Chivas to sign Carlos Pena and £1.1m for Eduardo Herrera from Pumas but are finding Norwich tougher to deal with around the negotiating table.

In 2012 Arsenal, Celtic, St Etienne, Rapid Vienna, Dunfermline and Dundee United were left out of pocket when the old club went into liquidation with some fears that another insolvency event could be on it’s way.

Whether it’s the actual transfer fee or the schedule of payments it seems that the delay in signing true blue Dorrans is the first sign that the Dave King’s Magic Money Tree isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be.
