Pedro Caixinha has leaked his plans to get ’14 outings’ from the best squad in Scotland.

At the end of last season the Sevco boss was upset that his plans to drastically alter the players close season plans appeared almost in diary form in the Daily Record who also detailed Micky O’Halloran’s 6am punishments training stints.

Since the end of last season Pip Senderos, Joe Garner and the legend that is Clint Hill have been removed from the payroll with Jon Toral and Emerson Hyndman returning to their parent clubs.

Shifting the deadwood looks a near impossible task but even if he is including the departed loan players Brother Pedro still has to get rid of nine players.

Spilling the beans to DN Sport of Portugal Caixinha explained: “The team has undergone a major refurbishment – 14 outings, 11 reinforcements and less than ten games – and it has been a struggle against time, since we have to register the players in European competitions until the 19th.”

Most Ibrox fans could rattle off a dozen names that they’d happily get rid of but with contracts to be honoured Harry Forrester and Rod Kiernan are sitting tight earning the best money of their careers.

As Caixinha mentioned tomorrow is the deadline for registering players for the first round of the Europa League qualifiers.

So far the cash strapped Ibrox club have brought in five new players with Bruno Alves unavailable for the Europa League first round matches due to sitting on the bench at the Confederations Cup.
