After being a local boy made good and Aberdeen captain Ryan Jack has revealed that he was actually a Rangers fan as a kid.

Yesterday the out of contract midfielder signed for Sevco as the second part of Pedro Caixinha’s revolution.

Like Bruno Alves he won’t be at pre-season training on Monday due to his upcoming wedding but with big names and big cheques in short supply the PR exercise is well underway.

Speaking to The Sun Jack said: “I was a Rangers fan growing up, my mum’s side were all Rangers fans.

I probably idolised the likes of Paul Scholes and Steven Gerrard, but obviously Paul Gascoigne was a hero too

It’s a huge honour for me and I can’t wait to get started.”

Like Alves there were no pictures of Jack wearing a Rangers shirt, instead he was wearing jeans and t-shirt with a Rangers scarf.

Posing at Ibrox there was no sign of 32 Red, Puma or Sports Direct getting some reflected glory from the transfer swoop.

Caixinha’s other transfer targets seem to be mainly Mexican based and requiring work permits for the UK.

Sevco are back in action on June 29 when they take part in the first qualifying round of the Europa League when they face opponents who comply with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.
