Brendan Rodgers issued Dave King with the ultimate insult by praising Kris Boyd’s insight into football!

The Kilmarnock striker is trying to break into the world of media but has came up with a season full of howlers exposing his complete lack of understanding.

For half a season Boyd claimed that there wasn’t much of a gap between Celtic and Sevco hanging on to a shot from Barrie McKay that went past the post in the first demolition derby as evidence.

Later on in the season Boyd expressed a hope that David Murray would take control of the tribute act and restore the winning ways that killed the original club in 2012.

Despite those observations even the Kilmarnock striker could see through the trash talking of King and urged the South African based crook to pipe down until he delivers some trophies to Ibrox.

Responding to King denying Celtic four titles Rodgers told The Sun: “I read something towards the end of the season and I thought it was a great comment.

It was Kris Boyd, in your paper, when he mentioned that you make your noise on the field. And that’s where you do it for me.

You respect your opponent, always. You respect the traditions of the club, but you look after your own club and you look after yourself. You don’t talk it.

I say to the players, if you want to be a champion you have to walk the walk. Not talk the talk.

That is what we aim to do but listen, the owners and chairmen sometimes see the game differently.”

After his ‘Rangers TV’ interview King backtracked claiming that by dismissing four titles won by Celtic he was actually praising the hoops.

During a trial in which he was found guilty of 41 tax charges each worth a two year prison term King was described as a glib and shameless liar.
