Is it Charly Musonda or is it not?
After an interview in Austria all of the journalists that spoke with Brendan Rodgers are anticipating a £4.5m move for the Chelsea midfielder.
If Musonda lives up to anything like the billing that Rodgers has given for his new signing it’s likely that Chelsea would value him at much much more than £4.5m.
At 20 years of age Musonda’s career has barely started, he’s just one of the 30 plus players that Chelsea sign and send out on loan.
Very few get to see the first team dressing room at Stamford Bridge but the club turn around a profit on them when they are sold after a few seasons on the loan circuit.
After 24 matches for Real Betis it seems unlikely that the 20 year old Belgian is the player that Rodgers has in mind to transform Celtic’s Champions League prospects.
Musonda does fit the profile of the sort of player that the Celtic boss would like to sign and work with but with expectations high for a new signing it seems that a Scott Sinclair type signing is more likely that a Moussa Dembele ‘project’.
