Derek Johnstone wants to see Club 1872 represented on the board of Rangers International Football Club- obviously not realising that James Blair sits on both boards.

Last Saturday Blair came up with an outrageous statement threatening everyone over the mythical strength of the blue pound following the Supreme Court ruling against the old club in the Big Tax Case.

Blair sits in the blue room of unsurpassed dignity as the company secretary enjoying brogues and a blazer and an annual sup from the Loving Cup after toasting the lady whose refusal to accept a CVA in 2012 sent Rangers into liquidation.

In September Blair was voted onto the board of Club 1872, unfortunately since then the other six directors have all walked away.

In the Evening Times Johnstone states: “Club 1872 are the second biggest shareholders and they deserve a say in what is going at Rangers.

Whoever is on there would speak on behalf of the fans and what their needs are and they deal with the supporters. There should be someone there to deal with the club and be heard.

Times are changing and the club have got to be listening to what the Rangers fans are saying. I think someone from Club 1872 should be on the board.

The members have to decide and they can vote on it. That person then acts on behalf of the support and I think that would be fantastic.”

As a director of Club 1872 Blair has been responsible for the fans group paying 27.5p per share, as company secretary Blair has been aware of the Takeover Panel ruling last summer that Dave King had to offer to buy remaining shares at 20p each.
