Desperate Sevco are extending the hand of friendship to Linfield fans- for £10 a time.

Five coaches will leave Belfast for Wednesday’s match against Celtic with all fans invited on an hour long visit to the third largest stadium in Glasgow.

Linfield have a long tradition of affinity with Ibrox clubs and for many years shared similar employment policies when it came to Catholic footballers.

Both clubs have been forced to ditch those policies but many fans still cling on to the past and celebrate in song those traditions.

Cementing the relationship the Belfast club announced: “Linfield fans travelling to Parkhead on Wednesday may be interested to know that Rangers FC have kindly arranged to put on a stadium tour of Ibrox for Linfield fans.

The tour will last approximately one hour and will cost £10 per head. The tour will take place on Wednesday afternoon – a specific time will be confirmed later.

“This tour is specifically to accommodate Linfield fans and Rangers will therefore require advance notice of the number of participants, in order to put the appropriate arrangements in place at Ibrox.”

Had their exploits on the park been more successful Sevco could have offered Linfield fans the opportunity to stay on for another day and attend a Europa League match at Ibrox on Thursday.

Unfortunately Pedro Caixinha’s side were knocked out of the Europa League by Progres Niederkorn of Luxembourg on a 2-1 aggregate despite winning the first leg at Ibrox.
