A petition to #stripthetitles has attracted almost 8,000 signatures.

Less than a week after the Supreme Court ruling that Rangers (IL) owed tax on payments made to players over a ten year period supporters across Scotland are mobilising to ensure that the football authorities revisit a decade of cheating.

A twitter group has also emerged called @1stripthetitles has already attracted over 6,000 followers.

The big challenge for the campaigns is to come together and present one united voice to the football clubs while individual fans lobby their clubs to demand action.

A number of deflection tactics have already been used including the old favourite that they won the trophies on the pitch fair and square.

A look at the squad for the tribute act gives a dose of reality for fans as they see a club no longer able to attract first team players from Barcelona, Chelsea, Hamburg, Feyenoord, PSV Eindhoven and Juventus.

The main crux of the issue has to be around fielding ineligible players.

Every player paid through an ‘EBT’ was ineligible to play due to the club not disclosing their full payments to the SFA and SPFL.

While NimmonSmith claimed that the scam was legal and available to other clubs the Supreme Court ruling confirms that the scheme wasn’t legal with income tax and national insurance all due.

Although unrelated the claim that players would have signed anyway is irrelevant due to the players demanding side letters from the club confirming that the player wasn’t liable to pay tax of their EBT.

Those side letters are now entirely worthless as Hector prepares to chase the tax owed from the players involved.
