Craig Whyte has hit back at those who associate him with the demise of Rangers.

Anyone with any business savvy knows that a business sold for £1 is heading for the knackers yard. It’s a punt, a long shot that perhaps death can be avoided.

Unfortunately for the former billionaire he inherited Ally McCoist in the deal. When the former Question of Sport funny man failed to get past Malmo the game was up, it was one roll of the dice too many.

Despite all sorts of accusations Mr Whyte was freed from the charge of fraudulently buying Rangers for £1 in May 2011.

At the Supreme Court in London this week it was confirmed that Murray’s misuse of EBTs meant that they were earnings from employment. Not the discretionary loans that Murray had claimed, the pesky side letters were a bit of a giveaway.

Murray however is the Teflon man of Scotland- taking Rangers to the abyss, sinking the knife into ‘the second most important institution in the country after the Kirk’ and running up a business debt close to £1 billion have had little impact on his media coverage.

If Fred Goodwin had stuck to football he’d still have his useless title.
