Blame Lenny

Rather than deal with a second competitive defeat in five matches for Pedro Caixinha attention has been switched to Neil Lennon today.

Portraying the Irishman as the root of the problems has been a familiar get out card at Ibrox for over a decade- with Caixinha throwing in his usual references to a massive club and we are the people his failings can be overlooked for now.

Over the last week Bruno Alves has been a touch of class and a father figure to the Sevco defence but against Hibs the ageing Portuguese defender looked more like a poor man’s Clint Hill.

With Hibs exposing both Ibrox full-back’s Simon Murray and Anthony Stokes had a field day through the centre- one striker who failed to win promotion with Dundee United last season and another who couldn’t get near the Blackburn side that were relegated.

The big issue however is Neil Lennon

Taking copy from an agency BBC Scotland report: “I am not talking about influence, I am talking about having the same treatment.

“If the opponents are allowed to have two coaches in the technical area, we are also allowed to have it.

“If I listen to what I listened to today, with the other manager getting to the fourth official the way he did, that allows me to go the same way but I don’t have the same principles.”

Bizarrely Caixinha hinted towards being treated as a lesser by other Scottish coaches.

The Daily Record reported him saying: “I’ve already worked in one country where there is a circle, a union. When someone new gets on the circle people start looking around. But even in a union I demand respect. I came here to Scotland to work and give my best.

All the time I’ll defend this massive club. I’ll do it until my last day.”
