Chris Sutton and John Hartson were among the first to congratulate Neil Lennon on steering Hibs to a 3-2 win over Sevco at Ibriox.

All three men emerged from Martin O’Neill’s dressing room together on dozens of occasions and understood the difficulties of heading to Ibrox.

Hartson and Sutton experienced the highs and lows and were quick to acknowledge their former team mate after today’s result.

Despite losing a goal after three minutes Hibs should have been further ahead before James Tavernier made the scoreline respectable with an 80th minute consolation.

After winning promotion last season Hibs have started their Premiership campaign with two wins and sit at the top of the table alongside Celtic, Aberdeen and Dundee United.

With a fraction of Pedro Caixinha’s budget Lennon was able to manufacture a win for his side that turns the spotlight back onto the fifth best coach in Qatar five weeksd after getting knocked out of the Europa League by Progres Niederkorn.
