Kris Boyd has slaughtered Steven Naismith and Steven Whittaker for using TUPE legislation.

It’s unknown if the Kilmarnock striker is trained in Employment Law but that hasn’t stopped him from putting the boot into two former team-mates.

Naismith and Whittaker announced the reasons for refusing to TUPE over their contracts to Charles Green’s consortium in the summer of 2012.

At that time Green was the bogeyman underlined by Walter Smith and Richard Gough going on record to wish the new Rangers club the best of luck.

With a few rallying calls the big handed Yorkshire based businessman soon had the fans handing over their money with Whittaker, Boyd, Allan McGregor and others portrayed as the villains of the piece.

Explaining his grasp of Employment Law Boyd told The Sun: “Remember that press conference he held? Sitting alongside Steven Naismith, he said how Rangers wasn’t the Rangers he signed for, and he was well within his rights walking out the door.

Rangers was on its knees at the time, desperate for every penny it could get but Naisy and Whitts wanted out.

I’m sure they both regret the way the whole thing was handled because no one came out of it looking good.

Holding a press conference to leave a club, what was that all about?

As it turned out they got their big money moves with Naisy signing for Everton and Whitts going to Norwich.

It’s maybe only now they look back on it and think they should not have left the way they did.”

Boyd left Rangers on a free transfer in 2010 for Middlesbrough and also left Sevco on a free in 2015 for Kilmarnock.
