Lee McCulloch isn’t rubbing his hands at the prospect of facing Celtic’s B team.

Eleven days ago Brendan Rodgers caused a stir when he made eight changes for the side to face Kilmarnock from the one that had beaten Hearts 4-0 in the opening Premiership match.

Anthony Ralston, Calvin Miller and Kristoffer Ajer called on the experience of Kieran Tierney to help them through the match with the hoops running out 5-0 winners.

It was the most convincing domestic performance of the season so far.

Despite carrying a 5-0 lead to Kazakhstan on Tuesday Rodgers is expected to rest a number of his top names from today’s trip to the plastic pitch at Rugby Park.

Kilmarnock have still to pick up a point this season with McCulloch admitting that whatever team Rodgers selects they are capable of handing out a hammering.

Celtic are swatting everybody aside right now – good teams, bad teams, indifferent teams, everybody is getting it,” the former Sevco skipper told the Evening Express.

They had a Champions League qualifier last week against a really good team with some great individual players and they have hit them for five.

It just shows you where Celtic are as a club, as a team and as a management staff right now. They are flying high.

Our game at Celtic Park was a sore one but you can argue that the young ones who came in that night are perhaps more hungry that the guys already established in the team.

Kris Ajer came into play that night. When he was here last season on loan he was our best player. Anthony Ralston played too and I see him being Scotland’s next right-back for years to come – that’s how good he is.

So their strength in depth is pretty phenomenal. Yes it will make it difficult if their top-team lads come back in but we’ll just need to get on with it.”

Last night Kilmarnock signed Eamonn from Hamilton and Brad Spencer, son of former Chelsea striker John.
