Willie Collum capped a nightmare performance at the Celtic v Hibs match by denying the hoops a late penalty.

The game had already been punctuated by a number of bizarre decisions by the man regarded as Scotland’s best referee.

With three minutes left to play Scott Sinclair broke into the Hibs box and knocked the ball round Efe Ambrose.

With goalkeeper Ross Laidlaw coming out to narrow the angle Ambrose used both hands to grab Sinclair but the former Aston Villa man stayed on his feet and saw his shot parried by Laidlaw.

Collum had a perfect view of the incident and decided not to award a penalty.

If he didn’t see a foul he shouldn’t get anywhere near to refereeing a professional match.

If he thought it was an advantage to be off balance and having a goalkeeper narrowing the angle then he knows nothing about the game and shouldn’t be near the professional game.
