Dickson in the spotlight

Andrew Dickson has finally gone mainstream!

The pale faced administrator has managed to transfer his skills from the old Rangers club into Sevco and welcomed with open arms onto the SFA Congress.

Without question Dickson was a key man in withholding information from the SFA and SPL to allow the EBT tax scam to be carried through.

Dickson took over from Campbell Ogilvie in dealings with the football authorities, supplying the contracts with a straight face even though the registered details were way below market rates but topped up and beyond through side contracts.

At the tax tribunals Dickson explained his role in setting up the dual contracts.

With Rangers going into liquidation with the Big Tax Case hovering above most individuals would try to make a sharp exit from the scene of the crime but Dickson enjoyed the salary, perks ans status too much to do the honourable thing.

Picking up on the new man in the SFA Congress Keith Jackson of the Daily Record states: “I’ve been writing for long enough now that Stewart Regan is unfit for purpose as the SFA’s chief executive, and if an investigation into Rangers can offer up conclusive proof of his incompetence then all well and good.

“While it would be a surprise if Regan was Lawwell’s target given the previously close relationship between the pair, it would be a welcome plot twist nonetheless.

But there could be others whose actions need to be explored including those of Rangers head of administration Andrew Dickson whose involvement in the notorious side letters hasn’t prevented him from climbing the SFA’s own ladder.

Better still, if it is Celtic’s belief that there has been some sort of institutionalised cover up, all propped up and endorsed by the SFA, then Lawwell is justified in demanding both accountability and action.

Perhaps that way, something good and important might come out of the Rangers farrago. Let us hope that this is the sort of positive closure which Celtic are seeking.

The alternative, a closure which does nothing more than open up old wounds, can only end badly.”

Any investigation into the SFAs actions over the last dozen years is bound to end in the blazers being withdrawn from Dave King, Paul Murray, Al Johnston and Dickson.

Maybe then a tribute act will have a chance of success.
