Brendan Rodgers has warned his young players not to be drawn into the Louis Vuitton culture.
The Irishman is fiercely protective about his players and wants to help them fulfil their potential.
These days there are more distractions than ever in front of young players who can almost be set up for life before they’ve made 100 top team appearances.
Rodgers likes his players to live a certain lifestyle and has warned any of his emerging stars to strip out the big time trappings.
Tony Ralston has been the focus of attention over the last week with Rodgers highlighting the way that the young defender goes about his job.
“Let’s let Tony be and not get carried away just yet,” the Celtic boss explained to The Sun. “He’s only just started playing games, you have to be careful with young players.
“I say to them here, it’s very easy to walk around with the Louis Vuitton soap bag.
“When you walk out of here, don’t tell people you play for Celtic. No, you are training with Celtic. You play for Celtic when you’re in the first team.
“Lots of young players these days look good, they smell nice, but they don’t put the work in.
“It’s about working to play for the first team. There’s one common denominator when it comes to young players falling by the wayside — money.
“It distorts reality. It changes people. Thankfully Tony’s not that type.”
