There was one moment in the early exchanges/lessons at Ibrox yesterday that told you it would be business as usual.

With his return to international football it seemed like an edge had been taken from Scott Brown’s play. Last season’s edge appeared absent.

Apparently Graham Dorrans and Ryan Jack had added some strength to the Sevco midfield.

In 200 appearances for Aberdeen Jack had made little impact with a Bosman switch to Ibrox the best that his agent could muster.

Dorrans is apparently a time served EPL player but the first chance he had to look at Brown must have left him looking back fondly on his West Brom days.

The Celtic skipper mixed incredible pace with skill as he raced clear of Sevco’s new midfield enforcer. It set a marker.

Brown was everywhere at Ibrox and certainly deep inside Paranoid Pedro’s thoughts.

He’d never admit it but it looked like he needed 40-60 challenges to make it interesting.

By the time Celtic next meet Sevco the usual noises will be getting made, it’s unlikely that they’ll come from Dorrans.
