Josh Windass looks like being ruled out of Saturday’s derby clash with Celtic.

The Sevco starlet was caught on camera making a one handed gesture at Partick Thistle fans and is set to be punished according to the Daily Record.

The one match suspension would apply to the next available Premiership match which would leave him sitting on the sidelines when the champions visit Ibrox on Saturday.

According to the Record: “Windass is in the frame to be offered a one match ban – with a fast track panel hearing penned in for Thursday should the Ibrox club reject the suspension.

Morelos is likely to escape punishment, however, despite being spotted kicking out at Jags defender Jordan Turnbull in the stormy clash.

The Columbian ace – who took his goal tally to eight goals in nine games for Gers – rattled the opener but got involved in a tangle in the second half as the tempers raised.”

The likely loss of Windass will probably result in a recall for Nico Kranjcar who only lasted 45 minutes in last season’s opening derby match before being replaced by Mark Warburton after picking up a yellow card.

Pedro Caixinha may have to delve deep into the best squad in Scotland with question marks over the fitness of Lee Wallace and Declan John.

Captain Waldo missed the final two derby matches of last season due to injury and picked up a groin strain 12 minutes into the 2-2 draw at Partick Thistle.

His replacement John managed to last the full match but appears to have picked up a mystery knock and could miss tomorrow’s return to Firhill plus the Celtic match wich could result in Maltese international star Miles Beerman being recalled.
