Recent trips to North America have seen the club playing in fair grounds and college car parks in front of a few hundred die hard fans.
Discovering the reality of their ‘world wide fan base Fernando Pachecho of ESE told The Sun: “Portuguese fans had been responding to the visit, Rangers fans had not. Twenty seven per cent of Hamilton has a Scottish background.
“After what they’ve been through the past few years and fought back, there should be support but they were not buying tickets.”

With next to no ticket income for the match Benfica pulled out after certain guarantees weren’t met by the organisers.
