Craig Gordon has complete faith in Brendan Rodgers dealing with the fall out of international football.

The hoops squad will gather again today at Lennoxtown after being split up and sent in various directions to play for their countries.

For the majority of the squad there was disappointment at the failure to reach Russia or the play-off’s while a fresh burst of injuries adding to the complications at Lennoxtown.

While Dundee on Saturday will be the focus of attention next week’s trip to Bayern Munich won’t be far from Rodgers’ thoughts as he prepares for a hectic run of fixtures that also includes a League Cup semi-final and trip to Pittodrie.

Gordon has played in every competitive fixture over the last 12 months and is looking forward to an intensive run of matches.

We’ll get the squad back together at Celtic and we have a very busy time coming up,” he told the Daily Record.

We’ll have to recover and be prepared for an awful lot of matches over the next period. Of course, it is tiring for the boys who are playing at international level, with European club football and also domestic football.

There are some who are doing more miles than others. Some are doing more travelling but it’s up to the manager to rotate the squad and give people rests when he can and when he feels that it is the right time, while still being able to maintain the winning record.

It’s a juggling act for him, but we have good players. That’s why we have international players, that’s the reason why we do so well domestically because we have so many top internationals, so it works both ways.

We have to put up with the travelling and there is all to play for.

Naturally, we want to keep our unbeaten run going domestically for as long as we can and there are also a couple of really big ties coming up against Bayern Munich in the Champions League before the end of the month. We’re looking good.”

Injury updates on Scott Brown, Stuart Armstrong and Jozo Simunovic will be key to the shape of Rodgers’ side over the next week.
