Graham Dorrans has reopened the Kenny Miller debate by revealing that the striker is fit and training every day.

Miller hasn’t played a first team match since the September 23 defeat from Celtic when he replaced Carlos Pena just after the hoops took the lead.

Two days later an explosive team meeting ended up splashed across the back pages with the veteran striker left out of the squad for the next match at Hamilton.

Miller rejoined the first team squad to prepare for the 3-0 win at St Johnstone but according to Pedro Caixinha was suffering with an un-named injury.

Sevco picked up a number of injuries in their Betfred Cup defeat from Motherwell with all eyes tonight on whether Miller is ‘fit’ enough to earn a place in the side to face Kilmarnock.

Obviously Lee’s injured and Kenny’s not been picked by the manager but they are still in and around the place and are trying to keep spirits high,” Dorrans explained to the Daily Record.

People like that know what it’s all about. Maybe we do miss them a little bit. Kenny is a true professional.

He’s training every day and is doing what he’s always done since I’ve known him and since I’ve been here.

It’s not for me to go into the details of what’s happened. That’s for the manager to deal with whatever situation there is.

What I will say is Kenny has come in every day and has trained like a true professional. He’s done the job he’s always done.”

Miller is out of contract at the end of the season while Caixinha signed a three year deal when he replaced Mark Warburton in March.
