Sevco have still to agree a pay off with Pedro Caixinha.

On Thursday the club announced that the fifth best coach in Qatar had been dismissed but today it has been confirmed that no severance deal has been agreed.

Caixinha, working with agents Pedro Mendes and Nuno Batista, agreed a three year contract when he took control in March.

Getting the bulk of his contract paid in advance would suit the 36-year-old who is apparently in high demand in Mexico where he previously managed Santos Laguna.

Until he gets his pay off Caixinha will be on gardening leave preventing him from taking up a job elsewhere as the monthly cheque from Ibrox falls into his bank account.

Speaking to the Daily Record Batista revealed: “Yes, there has been contract from Mexican clubs, but we cannot talk to anyone until we reach agreement with Rangers.

“We are still trying to finalise the details with them and that is our priority for now.

“After that, we can analyse the offers that have come in both from clubs in Europe and elsewhere.”

News that Caixinha has still to be paid off casts doubt over claims that money is available to pay compensation for the right manager.

In that case Graeme Murty could be in for an extended spell as caretaker, if results take a turn for the worse Kenny Miller would be a cut price replacement while Alex McLeish has bee touting himself for various jobs in his many media appearances.
