BBC Scotland and their double standards

BBC Scotland spent hours looking through the Paradise Papers for Scottish connections.

Of all the names that came up the one that excited them most was an Irish businessman with a company based in Switzerland.

Around 6 o’clock tonight the state broadcaster could no longer contain their excitement as they linked Dermot Desmond with tax scandal. The exciting bit, Celtic of course.

As they showed in their recently published accounts the Scottish champions are a well run business that added 40% on to their turnover last season.

Through their involvement in the Champions League they brought additional millions of pounds to the economy of Glasgow and beyond.

To many people overseas Celtic are Scotland’s most visible signal. Creating more interest than castles, festivals and other arty projects that cost millions.

Over the last 18 months the BBC have shelled out hundreds of thousands of pounds sending their reporters and technicians to Gibraltar, Israel, Catalonia, Manchester, Germany (twice), Norway and Belgium. The expenses alone for the BBC could fund a commercial news outlet for a year or two. Not a single minute of action has been shown live to licence payers.

While the BBC desperately attempt to smear Celtic they give a free reign to a glib and shameless liar running their pin-up boys to oblivion- again.

This is the BBC that sent a sports reporter to cover Day One of Mr King at the Court of Session in Edinburgh getting his character assassinated by the Takeover Appeal Board.

The live tweets proved too hot for the BBC to deal with, coverage of Day Two was abandoned.

Dave King was in Scotland from Sunday October 23 until Saturday October 28.

With their lavish resources and the Court of Session about to deliver the cold shoulder BBC Scotland were too busy to go doorstepping Mr King..

Their meek compliance with whoever is in power at Ibrox contributed to the death of one club, it’s tribute act is now at death’s door.

When King kills of the tribute act Dermot Desmond will be raising a smile, maybe a pint of Guinness and toasting the British state broadcaster and their obvious agenda.

One hundred and thirty years ago a new football club in the east end of Glasgow was born partly out of the hatred from the sneering establishment. It seems that little has changed as the immagrant club goes from strength to strength and unlike some they pay Her Majesty in full and on time every month.
