Dave King has promised the next Sevco manager a January war-chest!

The South African based criminal was careful not to make the promise at today’s AGM but was happy to deliver the moonbeam to Rangers TV.

At the AGM King revealed that a new manager would be announced shortly, talks about a new retail deal begin tomorrow and that discussions are underway with Glasgow City Council about improving the surrounding at Ibrox.

Talk about the impact of the Takeover Appeal Board ruling was minimal as was the fact that future soft loans will be through King’s New Oasis Asset Limited with the three bears saying enough is enough.

According to the audit accounts there is a £4m shortfall for this season but despite his QC telling the Court of Session that King is penniless there appears to be funds to pay off Pedro Caixinha, recruit a new management team and splash the cash in January!

Asked about the war-chest King told the club TV station: “The short-term answer would be yes but it is a decision he is going to have to make.

The decision is whether he wants to work with what he has got for a while and go big in the summer or whether he thinks he might accelerate that and use some of it in January.

That will be a combination of two things; one his personal assessment of what he thinks he has got in the squad.

Secondly if he believes those who are available in January can add value long term or whether it is better to wait. The attitude is we will back him whether it is in January or in the summer.

How we invested this summer won’t make us more cautious in terms of making funds available because we have to make funds available; if we don’t then we aren’t going to become number one in Scotland. That is a non-negotiable.

Where we have to be a little bit more cautious is in that as much as we felt Pedro was the right person for the job and at this stage we are looking for more British and Scottish experience.

We are more cautious in whom we are appointing but we are not going to be more cautious in supporting the manager with investment. We are going to back whoever we appoint, as we did with Pedro.”

Caixinha was given a £10m war-chest in the summer with a number of players being paid over £1m/year on three year contracts.

Jordan Rossiter is expected to resume full training at the end of next week.
