Desperate Graham Murty has decided to play the ‘Fortress Ibrox’ card.

Saturday’s home defeat from Hamilton Accies left Sevco with just two wins from seven matches with Martin Canning’s side joining Celtic, Hibs, Hearts and Kilmarnock in silencing the home support.

After two back-to-back wins confidence was sky high at the weekend but against a seasoned top flight club Murty found it too much to get that elusive third win.

Undeterred and with half season tickets to sell Murty told the club website: “This is a massive club, but we are not going to read too much into this week. We could and should have won the game – we need to win the game and be more clinical.

What we have to do is step-up when we are at home, and if our home record isn’t as good, then we need to go and move heaven and earth to make sure it becomes a fortress, and people coming to our place don’t relish it, don’t like it and walk out of the place feeling lower than we did on Saturday.”

Tomorrow Murty begins week five in charge of the club with a new manager as far away as ever.

Other than a brief three line statement there hasn’t been a word out of Ibrox since Pedro Caixinha was sacked despite extensive lobbying to unsettle Derek McInnes.

Since the fifth best coach in Qatar was binned the club has published grim financial results for the year to June 2017 with a forecasted shortfall of £4m for the new season.

After two years of keeping the lights on the three bears have withdrawn future funding leaving Dave King and the highly secretive New Oasis Asset Limited holding vehicle to keep the company out of administration.
