Five of Pedro Caixinha’s summer signings will be in action at Shielfield, Berwick tonight as Sevco take on Berwick Rangers in a testimonial match.
When Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera were recruited it’s unlikely that November Wednesday night’s in Berwick were discussed with the Mexican duo.
According to a recent report in the Daily Record, Pena and Herrera are costing Sevco £40,000 per week with their contracts running until 2020.
With no transfer money available for the next manager getting rid of Caixinha’s signings will be a priority although pay-offs look more likely than transfer fees.
The players will be well aware of their rights but could be in for the Kenny Miller treatment in a bid to get them off the payroll.
Miller was sent to play with the Development Squad at Brentford before being handed the captaincy when Graham Murty was appointed caretaker boss.
As well as Pena and Herrera, Fabio Cardoso, Aaron Nemane, and Dalcio will feature against the League Two aces.
