Steven McLean appears to have been dropped by the SFA after a serious of high profile plenders.
Four weeks after being in charge of the Motherwell v Sevco Betfred Cup semi-final at Hampden the FIFA official will be back at the National Stadium on Saturday taking charge of the Queens Park v Dunfermline Scottish Cup tie.
At the weekend Nick Walsh and Greg Aitken will referee matches in the Scottish Premiership.
McLean missed a number of elbowing incidents in the Motherwell v Sevco match with Bruno Alves picking up a two match retrospective ban for an incident involving Louis Moult.
Over the next six days the same referee was involved in penalty controversies in matches involving Hamilton v Partick Thistle and St Mirren against Morton.
Those fixtures had already been allocated but on November 4 McLean wasn’t given any match.
The SFA have a highly secretive policy to reviewing referee performances, after a run of bad displays they tend to be dropped down a few divisions then worked back up the system before being given another chance in high profile fixtures.
