Creditors in Rangers Football Club are expecting to pick up 4p for every pound owed to them by the club that dies of shame in 2012.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth rejected a Creditors Voluntary Agreement on behalf of Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs in June 2012 to perform the death act on the Ibrox based institution.

In total 276 companies, individuals and public bodies were left out of pocket when the club went into administration in February 2012 although big hearted fans clubbed together to give the face painter the £40 owed.

The Daily Record, who are owed £312 along with the Sunday Mail, has received a draft of the latest Creditors Report from BDO which lists all the creditors and the sums owed.

A number of football clubs are listed including Chelsea to the tune of £238,345.43.

HMRC could have pushed for recovery of debts, made up mainly of ongoing payroll issues and the wee tax case, but waited until their portion exceeded more than 25% of the club debt.

In July following the big tax case verdict at The Supreme Court the debt owed to HMRC was increased by £47m plus interest and penalties.
